Community Update from Board of Softball SA
Published Mon 24 Mar 2025
Dear South Australian Softball Community,
Softball SA board representatives on the Diamond Sports committee have been for several months working to achieve a more equitable funding method for the Diamond Sports facility than the one currently in place.
Under the current One Softball agreement, Softball Australia have advised the SSA board, that they are no longer going to fund the Diamond Sports arrangements that are in place currently, until such time as a resolution to a new budget is agreed between the two sports.
Rest assured, the SSA board are actively and have been working diligently to bring this to a resolution, and had hoped this could be achieved prior to now, however the revised budget requires Baseball SA agreeance, and this is something we have not yet been able to get.
The Softball SA Board is committed to remaining at the West Beach facility and is excited about the new Masterplan for the precinct, which we have been working closely with Tredwell, West Beach Parks and other precinct tenants. This plan includes significant improvements to the facilities.
We are aware of the Adelaide Softball Association's rich history at the venue and are excited about seeing this continue well into the future with our associated partners at the venue.
We hope that we can achieve the desired outcome soon and look forward to continuing to work with the relevant stakeholders to bring this to a resolution.
Thank you.
Peter Williams
